Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

My cousin, Lan, gave me the Nordic Ware Bakers Half Sheet and the Silpat Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat this past Christmas. I put them to use for the first time at my first time making cookies. These are the Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies from Brown Eyed Baker.

My melted butter cooled a little too much when I went to check so I microwaved it for 10 seconds. I used Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips instead of semisweet chocolate chips. Beautiful looking dough in my glass bowl when completed. It looks like a thick and chunky chocolate chip cookie already. I did not make them so big. I used a medium scoop (1.5 tbsp) and each ball of dough was about 1.2-1.3 oz. The result was a good sized cookie about 3 inches. I got about 28 cookies at this size.

I have never made cookies before so I cannot compare them to any others. We’ll let the guinea pigs in the office judge for themselves. Goodies for my co-workers to brighten up their Monday.
